Cooooeeeee. 9 deg. Calm. Dry. Rain forecast for later.

I now have a cough that I can't get rid of. :cursing:

Stay safe peeps. :hello:
Half an onion in each sock, with the cut section in contact with the sole of the foot.

Good morning all.
Its another grey, wet, windy, horrible day.
The cats went out, and quite quickly came back in again.
The dog has been walked, she doesn't mind the rubbish weather.
I've got a bit of shopping to do and then I think I will listen to the football on the radio this afternoon..

We have risen.

Weather sort of ok with some blue patches of sky.

Woke up with a start this morning at around 7am for no known reason.

And then launched into an introspective philosophical discussion with myself that started with the nature of time and space and ended up with the nature of relationships.

Precipitated in part with by my current interest in quantum mechanics (from a layperson's perspective) which has made me realise that my A Level Newtonian physics of 50 years ago, has moved on apace in the intervening timespan.

And also by my observance of a couple of relationships of people close to us whose very fabric is slowly unravelling - kids have grown up and what's left issues? Not helped by one extra-marital affair.

At a tangent, albeit related, have you ever studied the works of great scientists and realised that despite being moderately intelligent that you are, by comparison, as dumb as roadkill? Humbling!

On a more pragmatic level we are dossing today and have another party night planned for tonight.

Love life, love harder!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

I have a hard enough job thinking about what we are going to have to eat today let alone subjects that use big words.

What really staggers me is those people who hundreds, maybe thousands of years ago came up with things I still have no clue about. Pure genius.

Newton stands out to me - astonishing insight and predictions, way ahead of his time.

Ditto Einstein. How, in the early 20thC did he predict that Cosmic Background Radiation existed and then calculate its value with remarkable accuracy? And his work on space and time is gob-smackingly amazing.

Time travellers from the future!

I can just about get through the easiest work of Hawking let alone anything else. And then to conceptualise these theories is way beyond that. Bonkers! But fascinatingly brilliant too.

What about Nikola Tesla?
Father of Radio Control, wireless power transmission(leave your mobile on a wireless charger to charge). Contactless cards and many other things to boot.
