Beavers are amazing engineers, there was an article I saw recently about a town with a flooding problem, since they introduced beavers nearby the problem has stopped, the three dams the beavers have built have smoothed out the flow of water off the nearby moor.

I wish folk would stop meddling with nature.
I read last week that they introduced Beavers into a river in Scotland (I think) and now the conservationists are complaining that the Beavers are killing the Otter pups . You couldn't make it up!
On another nature note - I was just in my shed sorting some stuff out and got bitten on the tip of my middle finger by this little beauty.

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
@welsh dragon, were you disturbed by a "low rumble" and the earth moving just before midnight last night?

nope. Different part of the country.

Right breakfast done and had second cup of coffee

Need to try ringing the LBS again to find out what is happening to my bike - which they have had since Monday!

they didn't answer the phone yesterday - so I may go down instead

Then I might be able to ride it again - after several weeks

Oh - also

I was rejected

again

Went to donate blood and apparently my 'blood levels' (iron I think) were too low
and by a fair bit - 120 when they should be minimul 125 and minimum for donation is 135
so now I have to ring the GP on Monday
second time this has happened so maybe there is a root cause that needs to be wondered about

would explain my lack on energy this winter - resulting in very few miles on the bike

Let us know if you start climbing up the outside of buildings with no rope and feel like shooting nets at people!

I haven't given blood for ages, but when I did I would occasionally get rejected for low iron, all I ever got from my doctor, after tests, was that my iron was within normal range.
