Barnet,
I remember kids playing with something similar when I was at school. I think we called them Clackers though.

So did we.

Yup - remember them - damn dangerous when the string broke

I think they were banned at school after a while - and after a few 'incidents'

Anyway - in other news - we came back from the freezing North on Friday - took a while
and the car is making some funny metallic noises at slow speed
sometimes

can't seen why but I suspect something do do with the exhaust
possibly a securing thingy has rusted or something

need to take it to the garage tomorrow I suppose

The builders have been working on the bathrooms while we were away
naturally they found a problem and had more work to do in the en-suit (how posh as we eh!!!) so are a bit behind schedule
Still - they were working yesterday to catch up a bit
but we have no shower while they are working in there so I hope they get a move on!

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

I am still in bed contemplating getting up.

I think you're all taking way too much interest in euphemisms...........

I worked in a TV repair shop in the early 1970's, the old TV's with the CRT picture tubes weighed a ton, especially the ones still using a valve chassis, most of those put out that much heat you could turn the fire down a couple of notches.

One of our first tv's was from Radio Rentals and we were constantly loading it into the car and driving into Perth to have it repaired. They seemed to break down a lot more back then. No doubt all the valves, etc.

Good morning all.
It looks like being a half decent day weather wise.
I'm just watching MOTD, then I'll be out with the dog.
I might get the old Falcon out for a ride later on.
My bet on the National came in yesterday, The Big Dog came in 5th, so I have a few quid to come back.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Ah, the mists have parted. Last night a friend was bemoaning her lack of luck at yesterday's National. I heard, it was noisy, "I had a big dog"............I was thinking in terms of my nag was an old donkey......🤣

I remember there was always one person in the family who knew just where and how to hit it so it came back on

it was me in our family!

The screens were tiny too. I remember when they eventually got a bit more modern and we got our first 25" screen we thought it was massive. My living room one now is 65" and I sometimes wish I had gone for the 75". Maybe our eyesight has got worse!
