MorningGood morning from a misty Coventry.
I had 44 years of contributions, but because of working on the railway, along with other public sector staff we were contracted out, we paid slightly lower NI, so we don't get the full state pension. I have done the maths and for the amount I would have pay it's not really worth it.
I have risen!
Car clean day today, the traditional Sunday passtime.
I'm sure you've check carefully but I don't think being contracted out has an impact on the standard state pension. It does influence Additional State Pension (SERPS).
I’m old enough to remember when it was not only Sunday car cleaning but filling the rust holes that had appeared during the week

Makes sense if you think about it, more than any of the other places you checked.Well, last night I 'lost' this mobile. I was tired. I recalled putting it in my pocket but that was it.
This morning I checked " everywhere" .....which included rubbish bins, fridge and freezer.
I dialled it from the land line but a stupid recorded message told me "I was unavailable" and me shouting "yes I bloody am you silly cow"!!!
So, where did I eventually find it? Under the bed of course were I always keep it🙂.
No idea how it got there, I can only hazard a guess.
