That's because it's the Isle of Arran.

Managed a little 3.4 mile run. The legs were feeling a bit heavy as usual so it wasn't pretty

Another lovely day here though. Couple of parcels due at some point, otherwise nothing exciting.

I did try that! Lamlash works but not Isle of Arran or Arran. This is on the Met Office app not the BBC. I got mixed up.

Jeez, that's expensive. Sadly all parking charges seem to have shot up, especially if you are looking for long term rather than just a quick hour to shop.

In Chorley the first hour is free on some car parks which are perhaps 3 minutes walk to the main town centre car park. People complain about the high cost of parking to just "nip into M&S Food" which is bang next door to the car park yet won't walk for 2-3 minutes to get in free. Bonkers.

I haven't paid to park in town for probably 20 years.

We have a couple of free ones, although you still have to put a ticket on. Maybe to stop people parking there permanently. Not sure.

I only occasionally park in the city centre, most of the time I park outside and walk in, theres a road in the Spon End part of the city that runs alongside the ring road and I can just nip through the subway into the centre, if its wet or I've got to get something heavy or awkward to pick up then I'll use the car park, its a pound an hour, if I've got my Good Lady with me We'll use the bus.

Well it's been a good productive morning. Just having a bite of lunch and I can then complete the stuff I must do. This is a final lawn scarifying session, over sow with fresh seed and net to keep birds out. Hoping for a wet spell at home while we're away. Then need to sow a few bits on the allotment and job done.

Cycle club committee meeting tonight at the village club. This may involve beer and banter. 🤔

@SpokeyDokey looks a very respectable ride to me. Without wishing to lecture may I suggest you should drink more. You mentioned a kidney issue and I've no idea if there is a connection to how much you drink. Personally I'd have emptied that one bottle, possibly more. I used three litres on Monday and still felt dehydrated yesterday.

No problem at all re giving advice. That's partly what the forum is for.

I have become more aware of hydration since my kidney issues.

I did down a litre of water before I set off & I would take a second bottle if I thought I was going to be out much longer than today - which probably won't happen for a while yet. Nonetheless, I do need to be nagged to keep this particular ball in the air - so thanks.

The ride felt very easy, although my heart rate says otherwise, and it felt very slow - I am just going to build up back to my 'normal' miles/ride (30-40) by the end of the year. Much more than that and I get a bit bored! Not sure what my average speed will be, not too bothered either tbh, used to be 14.6mph on fairly hilly routes.

Spaghetti and meatballs today :hungry:

This is what my son had for tea after visiting his Mum in hospital.
I know its genuine as my daughter was with him.
I know he has a big appetite but this is ridiculous.

😃😃😃 I had a chippy tea the other night, chips, steak pie, chicken and mushroom pie, sausage, peas and gravy 😂 I’m aware that’s a lot but I was very hungry 😎
