Whilst I was washing up I cleaned both the kitchen and lounge window sills, I must have removed about thirty dead flies while I was doing it, theres been loads of them about since the weathers warmed up, no wonder I'm running out of fly spray.

Morning. Got fed up tossing and turning so just got up when the dawn chorus started.

At least I can get out while it’s cool.

Yep. I got up, found it was only 0415 so went back to bed. Didn't work so I got up.
Coffee consumed.
Bedding now in washing machine.
Have to go to town later as MrsD had an ISA in her name and I have to prove
a) she has passed away
b) the will allows me to access it
c) get 4 accounts switched into just one.

Sh*te, we never expected to get old.

Good morning from Versailles.
Today we are off to Monet's garden. MrsP has wanted to see the garden for quite some time.
Another hot day beckons. 29⁰ is forecast.

Enjoy. We loved it.

A long remembered story from Versailles, 30+ years ago. We had a guided tour given by a young French woman, very chicly dressed in the way French women do, tall, elegant and perfect English. No, I wasn't in love......

An American lady from outside our group suddenly called out in a strong American accent:

"Ou est la toilette?"

A long, elegant arm and manicured hand was raised high, index finger pointing to one side

"Lá"

Never has a two letter put down been so perfectly executed. 🤣

Scorchio again. Not a breath of air. I have been busy. Housework needs doing so I've cracked on with all the quiet stuff and now a short coffee break. About 8.45 it will be noisy stuff as I need Mrs P out of bed so I can strip it and change the sheets.

Hell of a ride yesterday. 78 miles, 15 avg, 40 miles homeward into a heavy, warm headwind, drank 4.5 litres and didn't need a pee once!! Very unusual for men of my age. Talk about dehydration! It reminded me of my last French tour on day one I hit similar conditions and had to stop and lay in the shade for an hour - I got hydration and salts utterly wrong that day. Yesterday was a good lesson for my buddy who has a major cycling event in France soon.

Bonjour.
Many years ago, I took my wife to see the chateau in Versailles and she was in charge of navigating our way back to Orleans, That was long before satnav technology. She kept telling me to follow the N34 but after going round the same area a couple of times, I stopped the car and asked her to show me where this N34 was on the map. She duly pointed to a point on it that did say 34 but it was the distance between two towns.
