Why? Why? Why? Do we exist? Is there life on other planets? Is there a God?...................more importantly why am I awake at 4.15 and have been for two hours? Why?

Today is going to involve some allotment work, get kit ready for tomorrow's ride (I'm leading a club ride), check house insurance renewal and other admin and sleep at some point!

We have a late and long day ahead at Lytham Festival where we will see Germein (?), Kaiser Chiefs, Blondie and Sting who finishes at 11.00pm so I can't see us being home before 00.30.

Disappointed by the things we're not allowed to take into the Festival; food, drink, chairs, umbrellas. Apparently getting anywhere to eat in Lytham prior to the Festival is a nightmare so we're unsure what to do about food. First act is at 5.00pm and forecast is 80% chance of rain increasing to 90%. 🤣 I'll be finding all my walking waterproof gear later.

Paul, being a well known philosopher, trained by none other than the great Mr 'Classic' I can answer some of your questions.
1. There is a god. If not you would have to blame our politicians for the sh*t storm we have.
2. There is no life on other planets. There WAS going to be then he looked at the total fcukup down here and decided against it.
3. Re your lack of sleep. Have you upset god?? Could he be sticking pins in you (or a doll) during the night?

There is no charge for this deep and meaningful insight to life.

Morning all. Wet in North Wales this morning.
Good news is my neck and lower back seen more stable, so may try a club ride Sunday (just to give it a couple more days of rest)

Most of yesterday was spent watching the ashes and trying to learn smokin' (Boston) on the geetar (it's not particularly difficult, just a bit fast for arthritic and broken fingers).
Today will probably be much the same given the weather outlook, followed by a trip to our reopened and renamed local for tea.
Can't say I like the new name, but it's better than being closed with the old one

Have a good day everyone, remember, it's better than the alternative.

I got bored with them and don't do any now. Probably should to keep the old grey cells working!

Pleasant walk done but some of our paths get badly overgrown at this time of year with encroaching bracken, brambles, nettles, etc. All the cut backs seem to mean there's no maintenance done on them now. Another reason I prefer spring and autumn walks when stuff has either not sprouted or has started to die back.

OK OK OK - I'm up
and awake

and taken all the relevant pills - on antibiotic and steroids at the moment due to asthma getting worse
seems to be helping the toothache as well - should have gone to the dentist about it but as the asthma was worse I thought I would do that first

anyway - lawn is starting to recover a bit - so only looks rubbish rather than embarrassing - was going to turn the sprinkly on the front lawn last night but forogt and locked the front gate
I was basing that on not trusting the weather forecast which said rain this afternoon
got up this morning and all the flags etc are wet - weather forecast has changed and it rained overnight and it set to rain all day (ish)

so that has saved to water usage!

was going to trim the willow tree that overhangs the sheds from the woodsland at the back - down for this morning but it looks too wet
