We have the grand kids here, one 16 months and one 10 years, we have a box full of toys for them to play with, but they have dragged a frying pan out of the cupboard and emptied the spuds out of the veg rack and are having a whale of a time.

When I was growing up my Dad was a Chiropedist and his surgery was in our house.
Sometimes people - OK mothers - used to turn up for treatment with young kids.
My Mum normally used to take them into the kitchen and put them on the floor with all the pans turned upside down and a couple of wooden spoons
Noisy but the kids normally had a great time

For only the 2nd time, we have cherries in the tree and gooseberries ripening in the orchard. Normally we never get them as the birds eat everything, but the last year all the birds disappeared and even now there are only a few, so the fruit will be OK this year. Hoorah.

My kids used to ignore all the toys abd preferred to play with an empty tin turned upside down and a wooden spoon. Drove me mad with all the banging.

My mum did the same, and I had to have my sisters hand me downs even my schoolblazer the buttons were on the wrong side for me so she made new buttons holes and sewed up the others, I some times wonder if I had her hand me down knickers as when I went to senior school I had new ones as they had a hole in the front
