Just ordered a new electric blanket, mine must be well over 15 years old and I don't want to go up in a ball of smoke.
They say they only last 10 years.

I think I've had one most of my life, I think the first time when I started working nights and with a timer I had a nice warm bed to come home too.

I hate going into a cold bed so apart from summer I pretty much stick my blanket on before going to bed every night. Usually put it off right away unless it’s exceptionally cold when I’ll leave it at a low setting.

I might be a bit strange, bit I love getting into a cold bed. When I did a week of nights, especially in the winter I loved having the windows open a bit and the heating turned down. I soon had the bed up to temperature and was asleep very quickly.

The evening not going well. Out shopping and I've driven over some debris in the dark in my car, and it's now making a strange hissing noise and smoking like Richard Harris on a bender.

Managed to limp to Daughter #3's house half a mile away and phoned Mrs D to come and rescue me. Two minutes after pulling up one of the neighbours drives into the back of Mrs D's car. It's still drive able, but I think the repair is going to be very spendy for his insurers.

So I'm sat here now waiting for the RAC to come and examine the French estate of doom, ETA 2102 to 2302 according to the app.

The turf boys did a really neat job.

Decided with Mrs D we'll go through the insurers for the damage to her Mini. The guy isn't happy as he wanted his mates who has a bodyshop to do it, but it's only a year old so I want it to go to a BMW approved repairer to maintain the warranty.

Also being electric there's the potential (see what I did there?) that things could get gnarly if the damage is more extensive than thought.

And finally Mrs D will need a loaner while hers is off the road and insurers are good at stiffing each other over to pay for that.

Meanwhile I'm sat here still waiting for the man from Del Monte to mend the 2008.
