Good morning folk.
A bit fragile this morning (self inflicted). The family plus various partners came round and my son (the chef) made 3 large cheese n onion pies, plus mash and lots of mixed veg. I thought "well, all that will never get eaten" but it was.
Today I have my 'will writer' coming as my will is now way out of sync with my situation........how things can change eh!
Next is a guy that designs/fits bedroom furniture......my new, small bedroom doesn't have enough storage.

Morning all.
It's going to be a grey and cloudy day.
A few of today's highlights.
Sainsbury's are delivering between 9 and 10.
I'll be out on the bike later running a few errands and picking up a few bits from the local shops.
Today's tea will be a freezer surprise. There are some boxes of meals I have cooked, but can't remember what they are.

Do me a favour (as I am contemplating home delivery)........would you let us ie me, know......the approximate size/value of the order and how many items were missing/replaced. Thanks.

Good morning fellow retirees.
My lurgy still persists, although it's slooowly getting there. The bad news is that I appear to have infected MrsTkk😮. I'm in awe of her stoicism, she downplays it and carries on with the routine tasks of day to day life. If I " Hover " and try to do things for her she sighs and gives me a look that says "clear off". She's off to lead the local "Walking for Health" group at 10:00, then she has to crack on with her dissertation which is due in on 12th January. There's no time extensions allowed, her Supervisor told her that if she can't finish it to just submit what she's got. I, meanwhile, continue to soldier on with "Manflu" 😉

Someone put up a pic of a huge pothole on one of our roads last night where someone had put a traffic cone in to try and warn drivers. Looks like the council have effected a temporary repair, if you can call it that by putting what looks like small sandbags in it. No wonder I can't be bothered cycling around here any more. What a mess the roads are in.

Looks like your highway fixers are just about as good as ours are.

That little road is just a B road and should be lovely, but it's used by far too much traffic including lorries and heavy farm stuff that just chews up the verges and drags all sorts of rubbish onto the road. It was quiet many years ago when I first came to live here.

I've removed our 8 bird nesting boxes, cleaned them, put some fresh hay in and then put them back up.
MrsD's moved the hedgehog house, dried it out and put some fresh bedding in it. They obviously didn't like where we put it last time, so it's now in a more sheltered spot. Fingers crossed they like it.
