I thought it had to snow in London to count for the bookies. Is my memory wrong or have they moved the goal posts ? Scottish Highlands shouldn't count as it can snow there in August.
I think they moved the goalposts for the bookies. The odds on it not being a White Christmas dropped after the snow and cold spell earlier this month.

At the end of next month, I'll qualify to join this thread, and it's something I am really looking forward to.

One thing I'd like to do is use my time to help others, and I'm currently looking at a few options for voluntary work.

My main wish is for that to be abroad so that I have an opportunity to experience and learn from other cultures, and I like the sound of Nepal, but I'm flexible on that.

I have a variety of skills and knowledge I'm more than willing to offer, and I'd relish an opportunity to gain new ones. I have some reasonable connections with Universities from projects I have done with them in the UK, so I'm going to sound out those research options as well.

Anyone any experience, pointers or pitfalls to share?

In 12 months time you'll be slobbing around and getting excited about what you'll be having for breakfast.........just like the rest of us.

Watched the West Somerset Morris outside the Yarn market in Dunster, then retreated to the Royal Oak at Luxborough for lunch.
Met a lovely couple in there, visiting from Northampton. Lots of chat and larfs.
