Yes - apparently

I am rather unsure if the car is actually locked or not - did it unlock when the keys moved 1mm closer at some point??

but no-one nicked it overnight

If you had the "key" (actually a bit of plastic) on your person, our previous car, a Renault Captur locked when you walked away from it, and, unlocked when you walked within about a metre of it.

It was therefor quite difficult to check if it was actually locked.

This one, a Toyota Yaris:

to lock, with the "key" on your person, you touch a specific ridged area of either the driver or passenger door handle (it is at least clear that it has locked, because, the door mirrors fold in automatically).

to unlock, with the key on your person, you just operate any door handle (or the tailgate) and it unlocks.

It is also possible to lock/unlock remotely, from an app on your mobile phone.

From the same app, you can switch the heating (sorry, climate control) on and warm the car up, defrost windows etc, remotely. I am not sure how far away you can be, and this still works, but, I think, you could be on the other side of the world. No, I cannot think of a reason why you would want to do that, from Australia ;)

Salut. Some thing has been bugging me for a long while now and I hope one of you, clever people, can resolve it. Why is the value of gold measured in ...........carrots? I believe the highest value is 24 carrots, I can buy 24 carrots at Aldi for less than £2 so can I exchange them for a pierce of gold worth thousands?
Purity is measured in carrots, weight by the Troy Ounce.

I'd be surprised if you can buy 24 carat gold for £2, you might be able to get golden carrots though.

Just arrived at the tin shed to find the water in the loos and cisterns frozen, never had that before, I had put loo cleaner in which as sufficed previously. Also the tap mechanisms where frozen and when I turned the water on any residual water in the pipes must have been frozen and blocked the system 🥶 Fortunately for the most part the drain down worked and we appeared to have avoided any actual burst pipes. Meant to be warming up a bit over next couple of days according to the forecast if a bit breezy and damp. Another winter I don't think we will bother with the colder months.

Still all good, made it to the theatre for the evenings entertainment 🙂

It looks to be too close to the wall on the right. You could end up hitting your arms on it.

Morning all :hello:

Estate agent coming round at 9.15 to value a small plot of land that we are thinking of selling. Will be interesting to see what they think and if it ties in with what I reckon.
Now could be the time to sell it, as the house adjoining it is on sale with the same agents.
We shall see.
