My mum was the youngest of a big Scottish family. We didn't have a phone when I was young. Every now and then a little telegram van would pull up in front of our house and my mum would start crying before the man had even delivered the message. She knew that it would be a message from Scotland telling her that another one of her loved ones had died...I suppose most of today's generation wouldn't know what a telegram... is.![]()

I was cleaning out cowsheds in the mid 70's.Lots of kids on here.....1st job in the 70s.
I had just one job on piece work but only for 12 months. It was 12 hour nights 7-7. I hated it.
