They are poor value imo. Had full whack for the two of us for quite a while and won very little.

We transferred a couple of ISA's to a new subscription from a local BS at the back end of last year and for comparative purposes vs PB's the first £50k in each at 5.25%pa gets us £2625pa tax free interest guaranteed for 5 years.

Yes, they are now but a few years back when interest rates just weren't worth discussing I was returning better than I could get anywhere else. I have cashed virtually all of ours and am now earning far better elsewhere. The PBs have always been our ready cash for emergency access etc. so I'm comparing relatively low rates even today.

There is a European shortage of a particular eye drops. After 3 weeks waiting popped into Boots to see progress.
Referred to the GP to get an alternative prescribed. That's a slow lingering death by queue and broken system.
Took my place, then I'm told something will happen by tomorrow tea time.
But I know it was originally prescribed by the eye clinic.
We shall see

Well it is the start of the month and I have just been told I have won on the lottery

Now - I was expecting to win the house in Cornwall on the Omaze thingy but was willing to accept £1,000,000 from ERNIE

but I was wrong - I got a letter from the Armed Forces Lottery saying I have won

wait for it

a bit longer

£5

Still - saves the 6 hours drive to Cornwall I suppose

We won on the postcode lottery last month, the princely sum of £10 each.
