I've been for a walk in the park this afternoon, put my Good Lady in her wheelchair, pushed her down to the bus stop near the Cosy cafe and caught the bus, we got off by the Unicorn club and I pushed her through the park, if you enter the park from Holbrook Lane end and walk through to Beake Avenue its all up hill, I shall have to try and remember that in the future and start Beake avenue end, after walking a short way down Beake avenue we crossed the road and caught the bus home outside Food Whitehalls. Yoga man was kind this morning, we did mostly stretches in class and did very little strength work, still a good work out though.

Some success ...

Strava just saved my bacon.

I had been falsely and wrongly accused of a crime. Dartcharge who operate Dartford Crossing accused me of using their crossing and not paying. I don't own the vehicle they photographed, and I wasn't there.

They kept increasing their charges until it reached £100s while I continually refused to pay.

Long story short it ended up in County Court. I used my Strava ride data to show that I couldn't have been there as I was on a local bike ride on the south coast. The decision of the court reads ...

''It is ordered that the order for recovery of unpaid penalty charges be revoked. It is further ordered that the charge certificate be cancelled''.

Thanks Strava.

I eagerly await an apology from Dartcharge and settlement of claim for expenses.

Good afternoon all. A hot day down here in Versailles. Its been up around 29⁰c all day.
The Palace is quite wonderful, along with the gardens, and the estate Louis XIV gifted to one of his mistresses.
No wonder the French had a revolution, the sheer opulence of the palace is mind blowing.
Here is a photo of us in the hall of mirrors.

I know a couple of fellas in Peckham could give a hand with those chandeliers. They have some notable experience.

Super photograph by the way and awesome backdrop.

The chateau was finished in 1634 ( it took 21 years to build it) and the French revolution didn't happen till 1789 but I agree with you, the way the French aristocracy was living was insane and obscene compared to the rest of the French population. Having said that, it is a beautiful piece of architecture with exquisite interiors and wonderful gardens. Le Notre designed the gardens and if you look at the lake from the terrace outside the chateau, the perspective has been cheated because the lake is wider at the far end so the sides look parallel all the way. Clever engineering.
As for the fountains , there wasn't enough pressure for all the fountains to be on at the same time so the gardener had to turn off each fountain after the King had passed it to keep the next one going. History lesson finished now.

Today we rode in a mechanical elephant, saw an assortment of mechanical beasts and went on a three tier carousel. 29C

Do the fountains still work along with the music.
It was a memorable experience for us.
