In todays news.
1. Back to sort the aunties flat out as the scheme manager who promised to be there 'wasn't'.
2. Daughter and granddaughter are here for lunch. Not as easy as it sounds as daughter is vegetarian and my freezer doesn't cater for such. Myself and granddaughter will be on roast duck c/w pancakes etc.
3.I am (very slowly) fighting through paperwork going back several months.

I've had to nominate a chemists to get what I need. They don't appear to be easy to get hold off, 28 different chemists tried in total after Lloyd's went.

We're very lucky to have a rural GP practice who keep us well informed - even to the extent whdn there are vacant GP appointments these are posted on FB and patients encouraged to phone for one on same day.

Recently the registered patients mounted a huge campaign to prevent the practice being taken away from our superb GP. It was massive, over 1200 written complaints at the takeover, lack of consultation etc. submitted to the authorities, Freedom of Information requests, national media etc. We took them all on and won. Lindsay Hoyle is our MP, he called in the Health Minister and questioned him directly about what was going on. It truly was people power.

The pharmacy is three minutes walk and everyone uses it because we value the service. The chemist calls me Paul!

Good morning. Dull, grey and cool which to be honest suits me. A half decent sleep so feeling OK.

Happy Birthday Mrs D, sorry I missed this yesterday.

On the weight thing, interesting comment from I think @Tenkaykev ? or perhaps @SpokeyDokey ? Anyway I'm playing around with my target calories at present as I'm very aware I've let it slip so its back to measuring and weighing everything over the last 10 days. Current target is 1500 calories which I'll adjust when I see a trend. I'm hoping to lose 3.5kg by mid September. Aside from the 1500 I then add calories according to exercise levels, I'm a big believer in "fuel the ride."

Right, small person day. I must crack on.

Watched the TDF catch up on ITV4 yesterday. There was a section on nutrition which was very interesting. Of course all the teams have dietitians who look after the diets of all the riders on an individual basis. One the tough stages the riders burn about 8000 calories 😮

Morning. It's another dry but quite fresh start for us so a pleasant 6.5 miles walked. Wasn't sure what the trail would be like after the rain but it's dried up quite quickly so only a couple of muddy bits.

We might have rain this afternoon in which case I will probably watch the cycling. Think it's the TT which I quite enjoy.

Barnet,
Good morning all. No dog walking today, she's in Cornwall with our son. He's got her for the week as MrsP and myself are off to France, somewhere in the Dordoign region for a posh wedding on Thursday, come back on Sunday.
I'll be out on the bike later for a ride, and I've got to collect some new undercrackers from Marks and Spencer. Exciting or what.😁
