Squeezed in another 45 minute wander without getting wet, although there are very dark clouds lurking.

Wondered what I was getting from the NHS. An appointment for a flu jab which I have logged in and cancelled. They can poke their jabs in someone else.

We take whatever Medicare offers to over seventies. Flu, Covid updates, Shingles, Pneumonia.

Thank you everyone for your replies regarding age discrimination.
I have come to the conclusion that I will drive my own car when we go over. At least, we will be able to bring back far more things than if we were flying.
The downside is that it will take a bit longer as we will have to stop for a sleep over in Newhaven before taking the ferry to Dieppe the following morning and then drive to Orleans.
But all this will be in the spring now.

Yep, I'm the same. Whatever the NHS offers me I'm happy to have. I also feel children should receive what's on offer but that's another conversation altogether.

I’m the opposite. For some reason I have become very vaccine reluctant.

Morning. It’s dry but cool and breezy so should be pleasant for my walk. Might be showers this afternoon.

We used to enjoy the drive down (via Dover for us) the roads, once past the periferique, were wide open and traffic free compared to the UK. Yes, it took longer than flying but we made that a part of the holiday.

Is age discrimination still in existence or is it just suitable only some of the time?
I was checking on line for hiring a car at the airport in France and was declined because I am over 70. Apparently, if you are over 69, you are too old to drive a hired car, even with a clean licence.
Surely, this is age discrimination.

5 years ago now, at 72, I was refused a hire v an (to help daughter no2 move house). Because, I was over 70. Daughter no3 who had driven me to hire place had to hire one, and I had to drive her car home.

Barnet,
Good morning all. A sunny start to the day here, but heavy thundery rain is forecast for most of the day later on.
Uncle Ernie has come up with £200 this month😁. A nice bonus.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies this morning between 10 and 11am, just about when the rain is due to start so I will watch the first stage of the Tour of Britain.
All the usual stuff to do today, dog walking, domestics the washing machine is doing its stuff but might have to use the tumble dryer (expensive) as the weather doesn't look good for the next few days.
Enjoy your day everyone.
