Anyone else have this problem (or know why I do).
My @ only works for certain members eg
@Mo1959...... fine.
@Drago ...... fine
@PaulSB.......no, won't work**
@welsh dragon.......no, won't work**

**So for some members eg Paul and Welshie I have to type the full name out whereas for others just the 1st letter brings the full list of possibles up.

The machine or a loose zip etc on clothing? Issue is with modern washing machines they aren't very home maintainance friendly. In the past i've changed belts, brushes on motors, even bearings but the latest ones are sealed units. Also, somewhat indicative of the modern "throwaway" age, it's often cheaper to just buy a new one!

It's the machine making a rhythmic clunking noise. It's over 10 years old.

The drum bearings on last machine went, so I telephoned the repair man we had used previously only to be told it would be cheaper to buy a new machine than for him to repair it, what with the cost of the parts and his labour charge +vat etc.

Golf a walk in lovely surroundings spoiled by hitting a small ball with different sticks.
Joking aside (assuming you are joking).
Golf is a wonderful sport for many reasons.
It gets you out into some beautiful scenery.
The handicap system works really well.....its one of the few sports where a big strong man can compete fairly with a slightly built woman (or vice versa of course ^_^ )
A player never knows from week to week, even day to day, how he/she will play......witness days 2&3 at the Ryder cup.
I was never a very good golfer. My poor coordination held me back. At my best I played off 18 and towards the end I was off 28.......but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You might detect a slight bias from me.

I find golf incredibly dull in real-life but with slick editing it is watchable on TV.

Mind you, if boring games are your thing, go and watch a live baseball match.

Tedium beyond belief and makes test cricket look like it is on fast forward.

Not my cup of tea but I get the competitive & social attraction of golf.

My BF is the 'rules guy' at his local club and he has a heck of a job trying to help multi-decade veteran golfers to understand the over-complcated handicap & scoring systems. Without computer assistance it is a real struggle to track handicaps these days.

A good idea that has disappeared up its own backside.

A bit like football's offside & penalty rules. Constantly changing and virtually unfathomable at times.
