An interesting conundrum for me.
Many will remember that Sue used to look after her elderley (even by our standards) aunt. Then, when Sue got ill I took over.
The old girl trusted me and although she had 3 living nieces she asked me to be POA and arranged with her bank for me to handle her finances.
Long story as short as poss.......one bitch niece decided to put the aunt into a care home.......against my wishes as i arranged for all her home help.
as POA I tried to stop this but she was able to prove that the aunt still had her faculties and over rode me.
As a side issue, the aunt DID have a good amount of money but the care home has swallowed that at £8K per month.
So........ the aunt has now hit her 100th birthday and the home is having a 'bash' but i'm not sure i'm up to a) physically going there or b) facing the family.
I will cogitate a while.

Good morning from a grey Dorset. Very little sun yesterday but the solar panels still contributed a bit to the heating. I went for an early evening walk yesterday and was listening to a series of BBCpodcasts about scammers and the techniques that they use, a real eye opener as to how sophisticated some of the scams are, with some great advice on how to spot them. Today's mission is to wander over the Heath in search of a brook that my outstanding new map app shows me is there, but I have never seen it. With gps I should be able to nail it down to within a few metres🤞

Kev, what is that 'map app' you are using ?

PUSH NOTIFICATIONS ??

CC is asking me to accept "push notifications" and I can't remember what they are or if I should accept it.

Guidance from the great unwashed would be appreciated.

Ok - how do you know I have not had a shower yet???

or are you just referring to Drago's undies???

in answer to the question - dunno - I just disabled them when I started

Push notifications are pop-up messages or similar to draw your attention to something. On WhatsApp, for example, you will see a white number in a red circle which indicates you have a new message and how many.

Possibly you have logged out and logged back in again. When I've done this CC treats me as a new member and offers to give push notifications. There should be a "no thanks" or "never" button close by. I turn them off for CC.

Geez, busy today on here and elsewhere. The morning started dull, grey and misty. Road reports said the M61 was still closed following a fatal crash on the M60. My suggested route to north Manchester was "over the tops" through Belmont and Bolton. It's a good alternative, though this morning the mist turned to dense fog. Anyhow #2SP and I have returned safely. She's gone to gymnastics with Nana.

Not much esle to say really. I've had a cold which is disappearing but I still feel a bit weary. I'm off for a snooze, must set an alarm though as #2SP will expect her lunch to be ready!

Been for a run in the car as it hasn't had one for a while now.
Chicken curry for lunch, a walk may follow.

Barnet,
I've just taken down the tomato plants and the plants are now in the green bin for collection on Saturday. I now have a couple of pounds of green tomatoes to ripen off indoors. I don't think they will do much outside now.
It's been a very good growing year, both the Tom's and the beans did very well.

Its a new phone so I had to log in again so that will be it.
Thanks.

It's called " Organic Maps " Dave and it is outstanding. Free with no ads, and no need to give any personal details. Offline downloadable map areas and built on top of Open Street Map so you can turn different layers on and off ( contour lines, hiking, cycling etc)
It's the only map I've had ( and I have tried loads ) that has the local power lines labelled, and I think I already mentioned that zooming in revealed that all the Post Boxes have an individual post code 😎
You can subscribe to supporting them but there's no loss of functionality if you don't.
