Morning all . We made it back home ….. with a boat 😀. But not the one I posted the picture of. The deck looked great as were the sails . The dagger board and rudder put the first doubt in my mind as the bottom edges looked like they had been worked over with a corse file ( it’s a sign the owner has been less than carful when coming back in to shore) . Then Mrs exlaser called be over , she had been checking under the front of the boat . The boat had a 10 mm hole in it 😳. We made our excuses and left .
The one I have bought is a bit older and a little rough round edges but it seems a genuine boat and the price was right too , saved myself nearly a grand over buying the first one. Which means I have spare cash to use to put right any faults that might show up or a new sail if I want one .
The boats is actually the one I’ve been using as my profile pic for the last few days so I don’t even have change that lol . I was aiming to rig it all up today but its look like it’s going to be very wet this morning so it might not happen .

Stay dry folks and have a good day. 😀

I remember the Lasers from years back when I did a bit of sailing - they were always very fast but with a slight tendency to eject the crew for an impromptu swimming lesson - I was envious of Laser sailors as we cruised along at a leisurely pace in dad's Mirror dingy, Enterprises were popular too, our local sailing club was a blaze of colour on a weekend, red sails on the Mirrors, multi-colours on the Lasers and blue sails on the Enterprises, I wish I had some photos!

First time I ever got a boat planing was on a laser in Greece

Didn;t even know what it was called at the time but it seemed damn fast!!

@Dave7 I see Utd have stunned Liverpool in two minutes. Have a word will you. Give those Mancs a good do.

Well good afternoon. Everyone is sleeping apart from me. Our French friends always have a siesta, it's the rule. Mrs P is dozing in front of Harry Potter.......for probably the 23rd time!!

I'm in charge of a traditional Sunday roast. We have leg of lamb, toasties, roast parsnips and carrots, leeks in cheese sauce, tender stem brocolli and gravy. All is good though the lamb may be cooking faster than planned.

I'm away to make a cheese sauce.

PS. If I owned my football club we would be in a very good place. 👍👍

Lasers have been a big part of of my sailing life and an even larger part of Mrs exlaser, who own one from when she was 15 until she was 40 . Lasers are loads of fun , fast and probably the cheapest way into the sport these days, but are a little crude . The Supernova which is what I have just bought, is like a Laser but with a loads of the rough edges and faults removed which makes it less likely you will have a ‘ impromptu swimming lesson ‘. 😀.
I too miss the days of colourful sails, Laser sails are all white these days, we don’t have any mirrors at club at the moment, but luckily we still have enterprises sailed regularly.
