Oh my God .....hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah Born of the one King of David
I thought I will have one last go, I switched it on low and behold the lights on the wifi
came on, so I printed 3 copies off and yes it's all working again.
Praise the Lord hallelujah...........I was beginning to think I was thick as a brick.
I have lottey tickets for tonight 🤞........can I be lucky twice in one day ?
Nah!

Note - this is not intended to be political - the politics are irrelevant
just about people and being dumb!!

Some time this morning I went of FaceBook and made a rather sarcastic comment (sorry - I do that) on the topic of trickle down economics and how the richest people in the USA getting richer might possibly not be a good thing
which may be right or wrong - that is not for this forum

and someone responded saying that last year the USA economy created 1 million millionaires EVERY DAY

now I didn;t check that - but I did reply saying how brilliant - and that this means that everyone in the USA is now a millionaire

Why are people so dumb!

Personally, I don't see the point in riding in the rain. Your vision is limited, your brakes are a lot less efficient and your tyres don't grip so well. Also the facts that motorists may fail to see you if you have no lights on . When you are an older cyclist, taking unnecessary risks is rather foolish as the consequences may be very serious.
I have nothing to prove when I am riding. I just enjoy the freedom , the fresh air , keeping some sort of fitness and wanting to get back home in one piece and content.

Everyone tells me that disc brakes do not loose efficiency in the rain. I do know that they make a lot of noise when wet
Motorists may fail to see if you have no lights. Simple solution to that.
If it is raining I don't leave home.
If I am caught in the rain it is a case ofHTFU.

I feel my discs work equally well in rain as dry but I've never deliberately tested this. Approaching lights, junctions etc I haven't noticed any difference where I'm unsure is cornering. I'm more cautious cornering in the wet so don't need the brakes in the same way as I might in dry weather. Diesel is my concern, not water. I've been down hard twice on diesel and I'm hoping to avoid a third time!

Noisy when wet? Yes and no. If they pick up debris yes extremely noisy but this isn't throughout the ride. Generally the debris can be scrubbed off by dabbing the brakes a few times.

Good morning. Three hours sleep so far, I woke at 2.00ish. When I checked I realised our direct Guardian delivery starts today, not yesterday. I was making a brew ten minutes ago when the guy appears in the backyard with our paper at 3.10am!!!!! He said his rounds have been switched round, normally it would be 8.00ish. Happy with that.

Many people fail to find our house with directions in broad daylight. This guy got it in pitch black. When I called up to book deliveries the guy on the phone said words to the effect "are you on the first row, the one with the post box?" I didn't indicate this, our address gave him an image to work from Google maps. That was scary! The telesales guy could identify our house within 30 feet.

I then gave specific instructions from the post box to our yard.

I’m awake and up too. I went to bed too early which never works.

A pea souper out there. I can barely see across the street.

I think I may doze off soon. I hope so, it's film club tonight. Seven of us meet once a month at each other's homes to watch a film chosen by the host.

I'm notorious for falling asleep......in other people's houses!!! 😂 We're close friends, 40+ years, and everyone knows this happens anywhere, especially in the warm and dark!! I can't stop it, no matter what I do, the sleep is overwhelming. I've stopped being embarrassed by it.........at 71 who cares anymore??

I have been known to nod off at Ewood.........if I'm extremely tired and shut my eyes.......😴

Just over 4 miles wandered around the town and have stuck a washing on at the cheaper rate and run a bath for a nice soak.

It just looked very misty out but it was actually a very fine drizzle so I got a bit damp. Still mild for December though. I think this is going to be the norm for our winters now. Milder and wetter.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
It's raining out there, and due to continue all day.
Daisy and Poppy have gone out, and Harry has come in from his nightly duties.
Millie has also had her medication and breakfast and at last I can drink my first mug of tea.
Today is the Barnet Christmas fayre, the high road is closed all day so it will be a bit chaotic traffic wise.

Good morning from a lightly drizzly Dorset. It's mild out there and aim to venture out about 10:00 to get the legs going. I sometimes wake in the night and listen to the background that the house makes. There's a tick, tick, tick sound if the bedroom radiator is warming up and the occasional gurgle from the hot water tank as it is set to heat from 00:30 to 01:30 when the lecky is cheap.
