I have a friend who, unbelievably, still uses a wall calendar!

When he comes up here and we have a future date to set, he photographs the appropriate page(s) of his calendar on his phone, he uses these to sort a date with me and then amends his 'proper' calendar accordingly when he goes home. 2025!

Mrs @BoldonLad insists on using a "real" diary to keep track of various dates etc.

She also has a "birthday" book, in which she records her relatives/friends birthdays, and postal address. The "birthday book" is arranged in Alphabetical order of Name (first name., obviously). It is impossible to find anything.

She does have a Samsung. S21 mobile phone, but, invariably, it is unused.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I have everything on my Google calendar. I would be lost without it.

Went to towbln and gave the car a bit of a run. There were loads of people in Mach. God knows why.

Gammon sandwiches and a bag of crisps for lunch today

a short tootle of a couple of miles with Mrs Tkk this morning. She wanted to check out the knee post cortisone injection, an improvement but not what she hoped. The small local meadow where I do my training was looking ethereal this morning, it's 500metres from my front door to the gate which is handy in case I'm having a wobbly day.

Morning all. Nice and bright this morning but surprisingly cold . Mrs exlaser has been out on a club ride and had overestimated the temperature and is now having a long hot bath to warm up.
I havnt done much this morning other than walk to the local cafe for a coffee and pick up croissants for lunch from the local Lidl .
In years past I would now be sat watching cyclocross on Eurosport but I am too tight to pay tnt £30 for the privilege. I have seen Warners ( the co owner ) of tnt are not happy with the viewer returns for some sport like rugby and are not going to renew the rights contract. Let’s hope cycling goes the same way, but with the whole Warners, Netflix, paramount take over battle going on . Who knows what will happen.
Anyway have a good day everyone 😀

Mrs Gunk still uses a lovely old A4 Filofax, I use a mixture of Google diary and Apple reminders. between us we seem to remember important stuff.

@Drago I had this happen at Aldi before, basket through manned check out and a member of staff wanted to see in my bag where I had bought a couple of bathroom bits somewhere else. I asked why,, they said random. I challenged this and suggested is it the way I look. Nope just random they said. I told them to keep there stuff and went to Morrisons instead.

I got stuck meeting with some professional who wanted to waste my time and money yesterday. While we were sitting at the table signing documents and debating the work to be done he started explaining how he was a pen snob. Now I have a few fairly expensive pens dating back to my professional pre-retirement sufferings so I asked what made him a pen snob.

oh well, he only liked blue ink, no black or odd colours and the pen had to be in good condition and work perfectly and cheap copies or crappy freebie pens wouldn’t do… oh no, only the best…

only a Bic would do….

uh huh… bloody tragic I thought.

Morning folks :okay: bought a cheap dvd player a couple of years ago...and what a surprise its stopped working! anyhow as everybody knows the best way to fix delicate electricals is to bash them just like Basil Faulty would  after a good thrashing said machine resumed working...but not for long, so onto ebay we go and buy another cheap dvd player!
Today i will be mostly walking the beach and because im dvd player less i shall be re-reading Mervyn Peakes 'Gormenghast' :okay:
