Good morning. Wind. Rain. I popped on to the Met Office app. The first message to pop up was "Rain. Now until Mon 18.00" oh deep joy!
I have slept. This is noteworthy guys. I went to bed at 9.20pm and didn't wake till 6.09am. That's nearly nine hours straight. Not even for a pee!!!! Yes, I have checked the bed!

Today? It's a tricky day. The Christmas tree was purchased last weekend. Last night I put it in the porch to dry off. Today Mrs P will decorate the house. You all know what this means. Yes, Paul will be crawling around the loft cupboards looking for something or other. More deep joy.
A good ride yesterday but tougher than expected. I was on my titanium Kinesis, everyone else on carbon except my buddy on his steel Kinesis. These are great bikes but like tankers, it takes time to get up to speed and bridging even 15 - 20 yard gaps is hard work. I mentioned the planned 72 mile club ride. No one went, everyone thought it ridiculous. On my ride, which the club guys joined, we covered first three miles in 25 minutes. Mechanicals. Imagine you've got 72 miles and 3500 feet and the first 3 miles take 25 minutes! I did a little calculation. We averaged 14.7mph on a flat ride. Extrapolated that would have meant returning to the meet point at 3.00pm from the 72 miler. Speaking for myself there is no way I could have averaged 14.7 over 72 yesterday. I'm planning to message the club chair and explain this to him. If no one feeds back things stay the same.
