Me, sir! I do. Sir, sir, sir! I do, sir........

Family life restricts me at the moment but I'm hoping 2026 will bring me back up to the level I want. An RTC in June '24 basically finished the year. In 2025 I've got back to 3160 miles, stamina and endurance regained, climbing still slow. My target for 2026 is 5000 miles and 200,000 feet. When I can't ride I have gym routines specifically designed for me to address the post RTC issues and build strength.

3160 miles is very respectable. So far in 2025 I've ridden 4800miles and climbed 325000ft. I could if I made a special effort get to 5000 but this coming week might be a tad busy then we're away 27th-30th.

Just under 1000 miles on the bike. 🚲

Probably 500 walked apart from the usual perambulations going hither & thither. 🚶

21,000 metres swum 🏊

More walked & swum this year than previous years but less ridden due to knee issues precluding rides over 15/20 miles.

I've walked 1,900 miles so far and that's just the ones where I've started the Garmin to record them. I've done loads of shorter walks plus going to the supermarket, etc that aren't recorded so I'm sure it will be well over 2,000.

9 miles done earlier.

According to Strava I have ridden 1,400 miles this year

It was a slow start after "a few problems" at the start of this year and the end of last year

so I started slowly

I was helped by the mileometer on the ebike saying it had done nearly 10,000 miles - so there was in incentive to get it over that

then I just kept going - then there was an incentive to get over 11,000

does remind me of a "challenge" I saw 66 or 7 years ago - when I had my original ebike (pre 2016 ebike laws)
It said there was a "prize" if you registered on the app and did 500 miles in July
The prize was rubbish - just some badges and certificates and stuff - but it was enough to give it a go
I managed it by about the 25th by which time I had sold the old bike and got a new one

which was not my current one but one that went wrong (rather a Saga but Raleigh was great about it)

but it did force me to look around for other longer routes and get back into cycling longer distances - not THAT long but enough

Now I just need to try to keep it up until I can;t any more!

My wife has decided to make a Yule Log
She has not baked for well over 20 years - so I have never seen her bake anything

Plus she wants to make it Gluten Free so I can eat it - so the flour is weird

anyway - first attempt was "not good" - had some with custard lat night but most just went in the bin

Anyway - she wants to "have another go" so I had to go to M&S for more eggs

Yea Gods!!!!

The queues fro the till were half way down the aisles
and the queue for the self service tills was right across half the shop and across the entrance

MOST people were being reasonable
but one or two people were just walking around and expecting people to get out of the way

I think maybe we are nearing Christmas!!

An Irish woman is cleaning her husband's rifle when it went off and she shot him.
She phoned the emergency service and was screaming "I've shot him, he's dead, I've killed my husband.
Operator says " now calm down, can you make sure he is really dead".
Click, BANG,
"right I've done that, what now"?

A short jog/ walk with Mrs Tkk this morning. The Cortisone injection to her knee a couple of weeks ago has improved things a little but not as she hoped. Stopped for a natter with a couple of frinds who were out on the trailway, then headed back along the Roman road and through " Dingly dell " where the creatures looked a bit bedraggled after the recent rain.
It seems like the Grinch has made an appearance too. Very mild at the moment and passing a local house I spotted daffodils in the garden 🤔
