Coooeee. 11 deg here so a lot cooler than of late. I am not complaining though.

Stay safe peeps. :hello:

Similar here at the moment with a high of 24 later which is more than enough for me.

Heading out soon for my pre breakfast walk.

Good morning all.
A cloudy start to the day.
All the usual things to do today, plus a meeting of the Escape committee this afternoon.
The grass out the back is suffering badly. It was just starting to look good after recovering from the heat last year, now it is quite brown and patchy.

Lots of posts to read through since this morning. Physio went well, a minor tear in the glute diagnosed and then some specific exercises to follow. That 1 hour set me back £80 ( initial consultation, history taking etc ). Follow up appointment in 4 weeks if necessary.
Update: it's now tomorrow, someone my post didn't post, so Good Morning from a sunny Dorset. First task is to water the garden then pot up and plant my Eunonymus " Silver Queen ". Apparently this particular variety will automagically convert from shrub to climber if planted against a wall 🤔
Then it's off to collect granddaughter from school for an extended sleepover. Other granddaughter is off to China for six weeks to visit Chinese grandma 😎
Stay cool folks

Good morning. Cool and grey...........and now the weather...... It's a chores morning. I've got a white wash on the line, coloureds are in the machine. A bit of admin to do, breakfast and then it's hoover, dust, polish etc. which has to wait till Mrs P wakes otherwise there will be war. I have a PT session at 3.00pm and very handily will pass both the post office and supermarket on my way there..........great multi-tasking Paul!

Back from my walk. Strange, I added some on to my normal 1.6 miles tet my GPS tells me I've only done 1.4 miles.
I've said that I back onto a country park. Its actually ancient land which was once multiple small farms, then MOD and now a large piece of land with ancient woodland. I've taken some photos to show what I mean. Not sure how you post multiple photos so will do it in 2 lots.

Morning all :hello:

Yay! Fish Friday!
Taking the pup up Lydeard Hill on the Quantocks, then dropping in to the Carew Arms for lunch.

Talking of short retirements earlier; 1976 - my old inspector on GPO telephones had his retirement do at the pub near our depot on the Friday afternoon. Said his goodbyes at around 3pm and went home.
Got home, went upstairs to change clothes and had a heart attack halfway up them. Dead on the spot.
Got to be the shortest retirement ever - about an hour.

Morning

Up just before 8 after a good night - first proper night's sleep for a few days - probably due to heat

not much on today
but tomorrow SWMBO is off to a "celebration of life" for an old friend
with one of her mates

and will be out overnight!!!

so I will be on my own all afternoon, evening and night!!

first time that has happened for some years!!

not sure what to do - but I reckon a bottle of wine might come into it
after a ride somewhere

A good friend of mine retired a few years early and only lasted 5 days. Never even got his first pension payment.
Part of the reason for myself retiring early was that two of the lads who I started with unfortunately died quite early, before they were 60, never even got to think about retiring. 😥

I had a few colleagues die while still working too. One of the saddest was a lovely lad in his early 40s with two young kids who died of sepsis.
