No, it's the II I'm referring to. The I, or Hippo, was quite tragic in K series form, but not so bad with L series or BMW diseasel power. Indeed, the L series will survive along with the cockroaches when the bomb drops.

The II is a different level of flakiness. You've got appalling engines From Peugeot made worse by Ford, terrible Ford EUCD multiplexed electrics, and fit and finish that would make Lada blush.

The only good one is the 6 cylinder with the strong Volvo engine. That motor is very tough, but its painful to tax and the rest of it is still horriffic.

And now you've got old age thrown into the mix as well.

Common issues are rear diff, Haldex coupling, unfathomable electrical issues, EGR, DPF (almost inevitable with age and Ford use a wet system with all the extra failure appoints that brings), PAS leaks and pump failures that damage the racks. You're a grown man, do as you will, but it'll be painful if it bites - the cheapest cars of that sort usually turn out to be the most expensive. The Haldex requires serving every 30k miles which never gets done because it's expesive, and I guarantee you wil;l never in a million years find one that has a full service history that includes the Haldex. I wouldn't go near one.

I can see that selflessness is just one of your many virtues Dave, we're priveledged to have you as the " Guru " of the forum. I'm down from the roof in one piece, getting back on the ladded was the dodgy bit! I was all prepped with the repair / roof sealant and brushes etc to hand. A closer inspection revealed that what looked like a major issue seems to be the layer of Thompsons roof sealant that I applied about 5 years ago delaminating, and the underlying roof is ok 🤞
Fortunately the powerful solvent fumes helped me ignore my fear of heights 😁

Just found out that the online spell checker that I use to check my spelling and grammar is going "subscription only" in 2 days!!


and the rate is rather too much

now - there MIGHT be a few people that are rather surprised to find that I have a spell checker at all

and, in reality, my spelling is quite good
but my typing is not so good - especially on a laptop - even worse on a phone
and I cannot spot spelling mistake after typing them
I actually used to tell the kid I taught
"do not point to your screen and ask me it that is spelt right - turn round and ask me how to spell it - that way I'll get it right - if I see it I will not know what the right way is"

SO I'll have to find another one

but if my spelling becomes worse - you'll know why!

The active ingredient in Ibulieve is ibroprofen, you can get a 10% ibroprofen gel from pharmacies a few quid cheaper than the branded version which is identical.

Been to the pharmacist. They only sell ibulieve. The other option is Tesco or Asda but it would cost more to go there than I would save..... so I had very little choice but to get the ibulieve.

Had me worried for a while, but no bones broken, luckily. She's now feeling a bit sorry for herself and is bruised all over.
