Cars - I had my share of salary sacrificed vehicles during my working career.
Recently our 2011 Toyota Camry required an AUD $7000 Automatic transmission rebuild which was probably more than it was worth so we went to the local dealer and came away with a 2023 Camry Hybrid. Toyota seems to be sticking to Hybrids and not plug in electric.
Thinking about it the price was about the same as we paid for our house in 1978.

Mother and father of a thunderstorm here in Royston Vasey. Mrs D is flapping like John Inman in a semaphore class.

Very similar here. I had a company car for +/- 30 years. Buying one when I retired was a nightmare. I know nothing about cars. I've driven a Hyundai i30 for the last ten years. It's a great car. I really enjoy it. If I changed, highly unlikely, I would get the new i20 simply because I like it.

@Gunk you're quite right. I don't feel any pressure to do anything. I've been around too long to care!! 🤣

Having a company car used to be a really good perk.......then the tax man came down hard on that until, to some extent, it became a finacial liabilty.

Good morning all.
Was debating re a walk but the weather has decided that for Me.
Call me Mr Misery but I've never liked bank holidays. Roads are clogged, beauty spots and beaches are rammen. Many years ago we went out for the bank holiday......that was the one and only time we did that.
Have a good day peeps whatever you are up to.
NB
Mental blank.....I thought today was also a bank holiday......duh !!

Dog's have been walked 🐶 🐕
Lovely sunny morning with rain forecast for later in the day.
I do hope a bit more 💦 dribbles down my pipes & tops up the garden water container!

Morning peeps,

Decided to join this thread now that I've had to stop my translation work .

We had a couple yesterday. I realised shortly afterwards that it was the perfect time to sow some grass seed in the back garden. Definitely no pics because I probably won't remember to water it and the garden is shady with shrubs and trees that make it calm and quiet and so it's probably a lost cause.

Trying to work out how to cover the area with something other than grass that makes it seem like a garden rather than a yard. Maybe gravel and slabs at intervals to get to the back gate and the arbour? Anyone got any better ideas?

Oh dear, my memory has definitely gone AWOL; however, my brain cells are still functioning and probably better than ever because they are travelling down new paths!

If I remember at some point in the future and have enough time, I'll be a good girl and delete my thread about the grass not growing thread. And perhaps I'll be a rebel and leave it up in the hope of getting some advice!
