After 44 years full time work with jobs before that (including working in a bike shop) I thought the time had come…..

The very first words spoken to me by my first ever boss at Solicitors Law Stationery Society, High Holborn, were
"How old are you, son?"
"15"
"Just think, in 50 years you can have a bl00dy good holiday"

I really enjoyed working, just not particularly for other people. I now work for myself but only 2 days a week. I only planned my retirement about a year before I finished.

So I got my double hit yesterday, nice to see some racing, even saw Ben Turner doing a wheelie up the gravel climb. I've now moved on to Port de Tudons for stage 9.

I didnt tbh. I was 63 when out of the blue a company offered to buy me out......the next month I was retired. Best move possible for me.

Mrs W used to work for a steel construction firm and they had scrap man come round every few months to collect the scrap and he would pay them in cash. However one time when they tried to pay it in at the bank, it turned out to be fake.

I took the £50 notes to the Post Office this morning and they put them through their counting machine; they were all kosher.👍
