Oh dear there so many things on this thread that I still cannot do like swimming, singing play blues on the guitar ride no handled, and worst of all safely ride my bike as my balance is shot, but I am working on that. Though waiting for an appointment is a killer.

Whistle by sticking your fingers in your mouth. Blow bubble gum bubbles.

There was a time that these were important skills that I lacked.

i've never been able to do the loud two fingered whistle either

Two more - do a wheely

and at the risk of being serious I never really got tensors, which made actually "doing"general relativity nigh on impossible. I do "get" GR and am happy with the concepts, but I struggled with the tensor manipulations to actually solve the problems properly. OK I could kind of manage at the "monkey see monkey do level" but I didn't "get" what they were about.

I struggled with div grad and curl back in the day which we covered in half a lecture (losing me entirely) then romped off into Maxwell's equations ! Later reading has given me a superficial understanding at least

Opposite but my ex mother-in-law is Austrian and came over here in the 1950s

it really annoys her that she has never been able to loose her accent
which is even more annoying on the times when she has gone "back home" because it is a very rural accent
so people think of her as a stupid village idiot type person based on it
my ex said it was always funny when they were in Germany and she pretended to not be able to speak German and insisted on speaking in English to ticket inspectors and the like
with a strong Austrian accent

That is like the anecdote about the film Terminator. When doing the German version they were trying to find a voice actor to do the Terminator's part. Arnie heard about it and made the obvious comment that as an Austrian he was obviously a native German speaker only to be told "No! You sound like a farmer"

Kilometre nibbler
Play many kinds of games: Bridge, chess, poker ...

I know how the pieces move in chess, but I've never actually played a game. Most card games (except cribbage) I know absolutely nothing about.

Nah, my lessons as a kid were a level or two below that as we basically couldn't swim. As an adult it was just swimming.

Done some SCUBA rescue training but am rather unconvinced that towing a drowned victim whilst attempting "rescue breaths" is really much of a goer, albeit I suppose it could arise for shore diving. For a proper sea dive, the boat should come to you

A vivid (but unpleasant) memory from my scuba rescue training involved breathing into the other guys nose. I looked down to see a load of green snot oozing out xx( ... I said "sorry but you have just drowned"

That remind me

whistle

My teeth are not quite normal and I think that affect the air flow if I try to do it

never seen a lot of point anyway

I can 'sort of' whistle but not to any tune. My lips/mouth just won't coordinate.
However.....Re' a single loud/piercing whistle...... I could do that as a lad. 4 fingers, thumb plus finger, just my thumb etc... almost any combination.
Sadly it's a case of 'use it or lose it' as I doubt I could do it now (I will try next time the house is empty and report back).
