Blimey, you just gave me a flashback to [checks date...] 1971!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Waldo de los Rios presents... Mozart 40!!!
A friend's parents had that. It is truly ghastly isn't it?

You have to fill in a MS Word form and return it. How do you manage to remove the borders, merge the boxes and generally faff up the formatting every single time?!
For a while - quite a while - I was applying for jobs
Most of the jobs I was after were either IT technician or an IT system person
A lot of the application form was a right mess - often pdf files that you were supposed to fill in and return
but there was no way to do it other than print it out
fill it in by pen
then scan or photograph it
I generally changed the pdf to a Word document, changed the boxes so they could be typed into
then filled it in properly - changing the margins and borders and header and trailers where necessary so it all worked
I got several compliments at interviews about how good my application form looked
a few of them commented that they had included me on the interview list just because I had taken the initiative to actually do it properly
and that they were intending to use that as the application form in future
I asked and apparently most of the ones they got back were hand written
mind you - none of them actually gave me a job!
I’ve always wanted to say this.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
I used to know several people who lived there - and came from there
They said that is the name of a train station - the town is just Llanfairpwllgwyngyll
which it is also never called
in normal circumstances, they call is Lanfair
it that is confusing - this is Wales after all - then they call it Llanfair PG (PG in English even if they are speaking Welsh in most cases)
I’ve always wanted to say this.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
The placename is describing a location in a very convoluted way. Without googling it mentions iirc...
St. Mary's by a white pool and red caves, plus some other stuff I either never knew the translation of, or I've forgotten ~40 years after living in Dolgellau as a youngster for a few years.
