One thing that they could learn is that if you get on a train at Leeds and discover 12 minutes away at Wakefield that you are heading to Plymouth instead of Blackpool, you should get off at Wakefield and go back rather than spending over 2 hours to Birmingham complaining about it, then having to buy more rail tickets and spending more than 2 hours going back!

That sounds suspiciously like taking responsibility for your own actions, which is not very popular.

Dear Scott, I am interested in entering your competition to win a super duper Addict20, but there is one small problem... You require me to enter my date of birth, but I can't type it in. I have to click on buttons to scroll back to the right month/year. I am 70 years old so it would take me over 840 clicks to get to the right month - are you serious?!!!

Could tech people please stop adding features to things, and sort printers out instead?
If I don't use my inkjet printer regularly, it insists that all the cartridges are empty.
They're really not.

When I was an IT tech my solution to that was to tell people to never buy an inkjet printer

Lasers are far better and failed many many times
Inkjets can be higher quality
and cost less at the start
but they are "temperamental" - especially if not used frequently

and the cheap ones are generally of the "slightest little problem - not worth fixing - chuck in the bin" type of design

My sister's inkjet printer plays up if she hasn't used it for a month or two. The ink in the cartridges seems to congeal!

I plugged my laser printer in the other day, for the first time in years, and it printed just fine from the very first page.

Some are better than others - some need to stay plugged in a run a cleaning cycle from time to time

which works REALLY well in a school where "some teachers" put their printer in a cupboard in the school holidays!

but some just seem to jam less than others
also some jam one nozzle - but the cartridge comes as a single thing so if one jams - or runs out - then you have to replace the whole thing
we used to love it when someone "donated" an old printer to the school
it was always one of those!!!

R.I.P. The Halifax!

I obviously knew that Lloyds bought the company years ago, but they are finally doing the obvious and killing the brand altogether. Customers are being transferred to Lloyds accounts in batches. The process will be completed by early October. My turn was today so I just installed the Lloyds app on my phone and removed the Halifax one.

I feel a little sad about it... Another bit of our history has gone!
