I could have 7 bikes for work if I want, no rules to say how many I can have, so thanks for the new bike :okay:
You might not be breaking the law, but you can’t justify your greed to one and all without criticism. The scheme allows more than one bike if your commute requires it: a folder for the train and a hybrid for example.
Rather a narrowness of the soul at the very least IMHO to feed your private appetite from the public trough.

Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
By your own admission you already have to ebikes for work. The clue is in the title of the scheme Cycle 2 Work. So you expect every one else to subsidise your increasing collection of bikes? By all means buy another bike but use your own cash and don't try to get a tax rebate to help you do so.

I'm no particular fan of Jowwy however, he is in fact paying for the bike out of his own wage is he not? All he gets is the break from VAT.
Like everyone else who pays tax, you have absolutely no say whatsoever in where or on what is it spent on. It gets allocated for different things from the central tax pot so your particular payments might have gone to Boris's own personal porn stash, the HMS whatever for the navy, paid for my bike (it was paid for from benefits) or used to pay for pothole repairs.

FWIW though, that first bikes seat stays look like a frame failure waiting to happen.

Not VAT, income tax and NI as the monies come out of gross income before tax deducted

For all it's faults the C2W scheme is largely available to everyone. It's a valid tax deductible scheme and there is no reason one can't get a new bike annually using the scheme. Criticising others for taking advantage of it is unfair, just because you choose not to do so there is no reason others can't or shouldn't.

Sole traders can’t take advantage.
You presume those criticising greedy exploitation of the opportunity aren’t themselves taking up the scheme, with restraint.
Anyhow, the OP doesn’t want opinions about his choices, so we had better just stick to butting out or telling him what he wants to hear. His wife will have the final say, maybe? :smooch:

I would go 105 if you are set on the Ribble.
I got one of these a few months ago, its ace, but not sure if it is C2W compliant?

Yup it’s compatible.....any bike can be bought on c2w scheme, even ones without mudguards and racks lol 😂

Just to be clear my two ebikes where bought out of my own pocket....and with upgrades to the tune of 5k

the c2w scheme does not say you can only use it once and game over, you could use it every year for 5, 10, 15, 20 years if you so wish and accumulate a huge stable of different machines and uses.

so instead of venting your frustrations on the end user that’s doing something perfectly legal and above board. Why don’t all the political officianado’s who spread their anger all over the politics threads with vim and viggar, protest the government instead.....as they might care a lot more than I do, just my 2 cents

You were not making it very transparent here, were you? Reads to me like you’re having a laugh at the expense of others. Anyway, you crack on....

I will crack on......and even if I was having a laugh at the expense of others, it’s still legal and above board.

I thought annually you could buy as many bikes as you liked - without having to justify why.

well in the end i decided against a new bike for this year and took out a 400 voucher and spent it all on new kit instead while the sale was on, so had

3 x new bibs
1 x new northwave winter boots
1 x oakley glasses
1 x shockpump
1 x socks

all while saving £200 on original item costs and a further 32% on c2w scheme via tax relief and no final value fee at the end - what a bargain
