In a genius move I binned the bike & almost made it through under the trunk but my foot caught a fairly major branch & spun me round into another one. Result it 3 broken toes & a cracked rib. Managed to ride home very slowly.

Peaking with 60+mph wind 5 miles just to the west of me.
Spent morning looking for storm damage but only one tree in the area I help cover.
Plenty water running in the burns (streams to those darn sarff)...

And all of us are thinking but not saying "How's the bike?"

Lots of flooding near us (New forest) and trees down, this one right outside my house.

The frame its self is in need of a strip down & repaint but that's it as I deliberately dropped the bike on the non-drive side. Big holes in the side panner so I need a new set of them. Shattered seat edge up to the stiffening ridge but while it's repairable it's not worth it. It'll be lighter & stronger to make a new one, probably cheaper & quicker as well. Finally the forks have been badly dented so I'll be replacing them, I'll see about using the dropout & crown to make a set of carbon forks my self.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Yep. Pretty bad. We've still got power and are fine. But Toronto has had a major, major ice storm. And, in my Province, there's been 26+ hours of freezing rain across the entire Province..

Freezing rai is the last thing you need.

Oh, now that sounds painful :B)
The seat took most of the impact rather than my back so I'd much prefer to be getting a new seat than dealing with any more cracked/broken ribs. Similar deal with the side pannier, much prefer to be replacing a bit of material rather than re-growing skin. The forks are serviceable they just look bad even if they were to be re-painted.
