A timely thread revival, given this, from my sis just now:

Today I popped to M's to see what goodies they had on offer. Never been on a Thursday eve before. I got:-

Tray of rasperries
600gms spinach
2 kgs red potatoes
1 kg baby potatoes
green beans
cherry tomatoes
parsnips
chinese cabbage
rice noodles
oranges
limes

all of this x2 (for me and my lovely neighbours) - at 5p each!

I usually buy dates at something like £1.65 for 150g I think. Love em.
Wednesday they had either a special (or a new line I hope) of boxes of dates, 1kilo for £2.50

Dates are gorgeous . I eat about 8 a day, keeps you regular
Prunes as well...lovely stuff.

Horrid and very calorific, 500-600 calories in those 8 dates! About a quarter of daily amount!
