Porridge? I love it and have it almost every morning. I make mine with milk but you can use water or a combination of the two. I usually have stewed fruit with mine - rhubarb at the minute - but sometimes I make it with a few spices and dried fruit while it cooks. Or a spoonful of leftover mincemeat is good.
Ref yesterday's post, i did manage 15 hours without eating, really pleased with that. Trouble is, i probably spoiled any benefit by going to watch football with family which included (after a good start this morning of oat porridge with Greek yoghurt)...steak and ale pie at the football ground, a pint, then takeaway pizza and chips and a beer this evening.
Well, that's me until tomorrow
No food for 18 hours then some simple beef stew (beef, onion and mushrooms in gravy) id prepared yesterday, a plate of steamed cabbage, Swede and a Yorkshire then a portion of Greek yoghurt.
Some.beans on toast this afternoon then sardines and salad and olives for supper.
Nothing (hopefully) from 7pm this evening till tomorrow...
Gnocci (shop-bought), boiled briefly and then fried with pancetta and spinach. Cream sauce with garlic, nutmeg and parmesan. Served with more grated parmigiano on top.
Gammon glazed with honey & mustard, mini wedges and peas & carrots.
The carrots were the last ones left from the 15p Christmas clubcard offer (I bought several kilos), whereas the peas, baby potatoes and gammon were all yellow sticker buys.
I'd highly recommend the gammon btw - it's was a "Finest" smoked Wiltshire cure pork loin, using higher welfare meat. Very lovely and well worth the full asking price (I got it 50% off) if you fancy treating yourself.
