Sunday lunch is evolving...
Now theres just me and two small children (who are very fussy eaters anyway)...a roast is actually either pointless, wasteful or expensive for the amount of meat that will actually get eaten .
So its becoming sausage Sunday dinner, all the usual veg, potatoes and gravy etc...with sausages.
Sausages and mint sauce, its not as bad as it sounds

If they eat the veg they're not as fussy as I was at their age

Chicken smothered in oil with garlic, ginger, paprika, salt n pepper. Wrapped in foil and air fried.
Add a left over sausage, chips and peas.
Very tasty though I say it myself.

Very much in need of comforting stodge tonight thanks to feeling bleurgh due to Lady Issues. So a cheese & bacon toastie and some triple-cooked chips that used up the last two old potatoes.

Back to eating a bit more sensibly tomorrow.

Are lady issues different to woman's issues.
As a youngster I am still learning

Lidl had cod pieces  and raw king prawns at half price, so tonight's meal was cod smothered with a sauce made with finely chopped shallots, gently fried with butter and oil from a jar of anchovies, cooked into a roux to make a bechamel(?) with soya milk and some past its best cream, old bay seasoning, basil, fish sauce, tomato puree, harissa, chopped prawns and some residue from a packet of dry roast peanuts.
Served with boiled new potatoes and garden peas. Lush!

Edit: forgot to mention, baked in oven at 180c for 24 minutes.
