The 55 part of that tyre size doesn't mean 55 mm,it means the profile is 55% of the 255 mm tyre width, or 140.25 mmWhat always gets me is the way Tyre sizes are defined - 255,55,15 means 255mm wide, 55mm depth from the rim, and 15inch rims.
