Also, on filling out a form for benefits at the Job Centre... What in the name of fark has my sexual orientation got to do with anything?

Do I get a special gay discount card or something?

As it was, it was being filled out for me and the guy just clicked 'Hetrosexual'.

Oh well. 🤣

That is all for their statistics. To help try to show they aren't discriminating.

When there are 3 seasons of a TV series. Two are on one streaming platform and the last one is on a different streaming platform. This means you have to pay for two streaming platforms to watch all of one TV series.

What a baloney. I should just stop watching these shows (and after watching the current show, that's what I'll do, and cancel my Netflix - although I do like their interface a lot).

At work we have an email distribution list that's held on the google hub. It's held there so that, in terms of version control, you can use it knowing that it's the most up to date list.

So I send an email out to a large list of important people, using the online list, and someone gets back to me and says "x person has emailed us the most up to date version, is yours correct?". So now I have to search line by line and see if I've missed anyone off, or if their role has actually changed and someone else has taken their place. And all because someone on £48k a year did not think it important to update the shared (official) list. We even have Admin support who could have done it for them, but no, let's not bother

Just been to the hospital to get a prescription

Got there about 10:30 and went to the counter
bloke was there and he took the name of the patient (my wife) and said
"I'll print it out now"
??????
why???

anyway - he printed it out and filled in a few boxes on the form based on what I said

then put it in a tray for collection

The medicine was ready 30 minutes later

now if I had gone to the GP they would have done it all on a computer
it would have gone to the pharmacy electronically
and the pharmacy would have seen it on their computer and dispensed it from there

OK there are a couple of stickers and stuff printed out but it is all electronic

and I bet the contents of that form were typed into a computer somewhere after it had been printed

which is what we used to do in the 1980s
most of the 1990s I spent working on things to make stuff in the company faster and cheaper by removing all the paper
but the hospital hasn;t got that far yet!!

Do not get me started on pharmacies! We tried to get a prescription for my stepson. The Dr had prescribed 2 months worth, which they shouldn't have done. We said can we just take 1 packet instead then? No we couldn't. In fact I need to ask my manager. Manager says they need to be sent back/retained. We get another prescription, this time the staff memeber says it's not in. My wife points to a shelf behind her and says "yes it is, I can see it". Oh, it's there, but someone else needs to sign it off. 30 mins later they let us have it. There is an issue literally every time we have picked up prescriptions
