Trivial things that make you annoyed beyond expectations?

When people say "don't sweat the details" or "don't worry about the details, they figure themselves out" or something similar.

IMO it's usually said by fluffy thinkers who have try and sound good by dismissing things they do not understand, or the details.

Now if you don't understand the details, then hire someone who does and make your blue sky decisions based on the expert. Heck, even have a couple of experts to before each other or give alternative opinions. But don't dismiss the details.

I can't remember if I've posted this here so my apologies if I have.
At work after a hectic morning I just want to chill out on my lunch break and reset myself for the afternoon.
It annoys me when someone comes into the rest room whilst I'm sitting quietly reading and starts watching some annoying tik tok rubbish on there phone's.
Listening to canned laughter on whatever A I garbage there watching really winds me up.
If I would to ask them to turn it down or off I know what the response I would get, so I respond in kindness by turning my phone on full loudness and watch YouTube shorts
The noise in the rest room just becomes a conflict of two mobile phones and they soon get the hint.
As soon as they give up watching there rubbish I turn mine off and continue back to my reading.
I think this should be in the grumpy old git thread (if we have one)🤣

We had that on holiday. We were at a small abbey which was picturesque and quiet. The outdoor café was quiet and everyone was enjoying a quiet coffee. Then some young woman started watching loud music videos on her phone. Luckily a rather abrupt Italian lady told her to shut up! Some people simply cannot read a room

As with many things on this thread, probably not trivial, but the clowns doing roadworks on the A68 west of Heighington. They've set up the traffic lights just round a blind bend over the top of a crest, where I ended up stopped this morning, eagerly anticipating being hit up the a#se by some dozy twonk who'd taken no notice of the roadworks signs. Sure enough a lorry came round the bend, stopping about a foot away from my boot. To someone who's spent a lifetime working in the (rightly, massively risk averse) construction industry it seems blatantly obvious that you need to put the lights around the corner so they can be seen as far in advance as possible . I normally stop well short of the lights in such cases but here I'd be literally round the corner and not able to see the bloody lights!

All temporary traffic lights... On my 10 mike commute there seems to be 2-3 sets of lights.
Tbh serves me right for not cycling! 😂

I had that with a client who came to help me with a project, I thought I would be a nice afternoon building a shed... No he brought his boom box and played loud polish music! Kept stopping to change songs and then said he has to go halfway through!! 😂

There was somebody cycling along the Llangollen canal blasting out loud dance music on their phone. Fortunately I could overtake him.

I find it is normally said my people who will want me to fix the problems caused by ignoring the details when it all goes wrong

I remember more than a few meeting, in the big company that I used to work for, where senior managers said I was just being awkward or pedantic for pointing out the problems with their great new idea

Which was one of the main reasons why our departments was a separate department inside IT
It meant we could say it won;t work and not be shouted down or over-ruled
we could be ignored - but then they would be a memo/email showing the potential problems if they went ahead
and they knew that producing that memo showing all the ways it would go wrong - after then went wrong - would be a career limiting situation

No, you need 3 experts, so that when one disagrees you can go with the majority :-)

You just need to ensure that you hire the right experts - you don;t want to end up with a majority that you don;t agree with

then you need to hire some more so your "right and proper view" can be shown to have a majority
