As far as I am aware decorations should be taken down BY twelfth night

not ON twelfth night

Twelfth Night is the eve of Epiphany i.e the night before. In the early church the 25th wasn't a Christian festival, that was Epiphany. The tradition was the pagan decorations (anything with greenery, holly etc) were tolerated as long as they were taken down for Epiphany.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
The same thing getting off a chairlift and stopping in the exit area when skiing.
Basically, anybody doing anything without thinking of its impact on other people!

I have just had various groups of people annoy me in my local Aldi.

Example:

Two people with trolleys stopping to chat about Christmas, with their trolleys carefully parked next to each other to make a total aisle-block. I turned to go back the other way and found that another two thought it was a great idea which needed to be copied! :cursing:

This is when my trolley becomes a battering ram. They'll be the same people that seem to think having their trolley across the aisle is a great idea.

I can understand that to an extent

What really gets me is when you go up to them and say "excuse me please"
and they look at you as if you have just asked for them to take part in some sort of demon themed based sex party

AT which point I generally smile nicely at them and just look expectantly in the nicest way possible
which really freaks them out sometimes
I learned it from my Mum - if she was REALLY nice to someone for no reason them my Dad and I KNEW she thought they were entitled morons of the first water!

It’s an American thing. Both are acceptable. I’m a Shed guy. Not a Sked guy.
But it isn’t a bridge im prepared to die on.

You are correct that mispronunciation of schedule is an American thing, it’s not acceptable though.

How do you pronounce "scheme" ?

English is one of the hardest languages to lear, so I’m told. Americans are lazy, the proliferation of fast food and drive through services are proof if needed. Americans cant be bothered to spell correctly either.

I should point out, I’ve been to the US more times than I can remember both for holidays and work. I have American friends.
