According to the physio it was a back issue not ITB or tight muscles. That confused me as there were none of the normal indications for it.

I went to the osteopath I use and he did some work that appears to have partially released whatever was stuck. I'm just doing a slow ride with the girls to get back on the bike without stressing the back too much. I have another appointment at the osteopath next Friday.

Normally one visit is enough, every 12-18 months. But on the odd period (about every 5 or 6 years) I need 2 or 3. I should be back to full, for me, flexibility within a couple of weeks.

I'm looking forward to being back on the bike.
Make sure you sign up for the ToC again next year - give you something to train for :okay: Be great to meet up with you.

I've just checked and it seems that it starts youngest group first. In the races this year there were 3 minute gaps between each age group, starting with 19-34.

I might be tempted to ‘accidentally’ arrive late to my pen so I could start with Bridgy and whoever else falls into that bracket.

My youngest brother and I have unfinished business with the ToC. Other brother is looking at a series of rides and possibly a Triathlon next year.

I think we'll probably look at booking up when the next lot of reductions comes through.

Fug, fug, fug, fug and fug.

Thigh is much better. But the problem has moved to the calf and is more painful, quicker. :cursing::cry::cursing::cry::cursing:

3 miles and the first half of that mainly down hill. That's it. Thank fug I was on my Cube. It would have been a long walk back in road shoes.

I hope I can get this sorted quickly. :banghead:

Well as Tommy, Lee and others go to Bourg st Maurice for a week I have been reflecting on my trip last week .i love that part of the alps having been there 3 times before and so know the climbs well. We had a fantastic time. The hot weather didn’t hit until the 3rd day so temps were in mid 20’s except at the top of Col’s were they dropped off a bit. Strange indeed to be riding in sun and heat alongside snow walls but lovely and cool to the touch. We even had a bit of rain on day 2 at the top of the petit St. Bernard as we descended into Italy, snow walls on either side of us. Refuge In a cafe and Coffee and chocolate torte were the order of the day.
Mixed group and I had good fortune to ride with some mountain goats who sure tested my strength and stamina especially considering they weighed 20lbs or more LESS than me
D’Iseran, Bernard, Notre Dame Du Pre, and the ever beautiful climb to Roseland completed. A few pics to follow. Sitting here very jealous of the others getting to ride them this coming week.
