Hi, my wife has an MTB with 27.5 wheels but she wants to swap the knobblys for something more suitable with less resistance for touring on the roads...does anyone have any recommendations?

Unfortunately there’s not a lot of choice in that size for ‘city’ tyres but luckily Schwalbe offer their popular Marathon http://www.wiggle.co.uk/schwalbe-marathon-supreme-hd-speed-folding-tyre-275/
I think Panaracer have one too.

Continental race kings 2.0 width size are very fast for mtb tyres.
They do a puncture resistant one that's also folding bead and quite light at around 550 600g

Not cheap but a very good buy for tarmac and easy off road stuff..no good in mud just hard pack

Kenda Kwests are nice as well. I use them on my Raleigh 26" tourer(CityLite) and they seem to do a fine job, so far. High pressure for a 26" tire, so they run very nicely on road surfaces. Off road they are good, but not great. As I do mostly road riding, they are fine on road and gravel surfaces.
