What are our thoughts with regards to coloured tyres and bar tape to match the frame and step out from the black standard tyres?.

I have a Carrera Virtuoso Ltd Edition, White frame with union jack colours.
- Bought Red Bar Tape
- White Conti Ultra Sport tyres

Have recently purchased the Specialized Tarmac SL2
- Red Conti Sport Tyres?

Yeah. go for it. Coordinating your bike's colours can look pretty cool, but good luck with keeping those white tyres clean!

Yes for sure, especially if it minimises any black colouring on the bike (includes adding a coloured saddle, tape, hoods,, but never shorts, they should only be black)

I'm not sure on white tyres - they just get dirty!

I've had the white tyres for over 2 years now and they have been amazing in terms of no punctures... however...
THEY GET SO DIRTY, not recommended guys!

The Specialized will be getting a flash of red tyres very soon!

I always used to get tyres with blue on them for my old road bike, but after having a few different pairs where the coloured rubber seperated from the black rubber, I figured it wasn't worth the hassle. I've had as little as 500 miles from tyres before they have done this, so now just put up with boring plain black ones

Can I suggest a better tyre than Ultra Sport? Conti's GP4000s are so much better and you can get them in red!

Oh, and my green Carrera commuter has green Rubino's, the blue winter Eastway has blue Lugano's so I'm just as bad. However, the other bikes are on plain black GP4000s'.

Hunting around for red Conti GP4000s now, reviews suggest they are much much better, at around £70 ish for 2, that's decent!

Since this it's got exact frame matching green bar tape and matching stem cap.

Beauty...

I have now got the Continentals ordered in Red, along with Red bar tape.

I almost clicked on the 'confirm' button on Castelli Red and Black Bib and Jersey, but couldn't quite justify it yet...
