unidentified object. identification help wanted.

Any ideas what this is? It was in the dispensing tray of a vending machine.

It's a metal pressing/stamping and is 2-3I'm thick.

I reckon it's a "hangy-thing" from inside the machine, from which one of the items dispensed by the machine, hung.
Or the key to a suitcase with a useless lock.

I ran it through 'google goggles' (image recognition app) which suggested it might be a shirt or a spring. Have you considered those possibilities?
