I expect that from Amazon. we were in all morning, and yes our door bell does work, so does the knocker. They are ****ing useless. And no I don't feel any better about them.

Might be your local employee who can't be ar$ed ?

Our local lot are good, and getting my prescription by post is far more reliable than calling into our local pharmacy, who are totally useless.

Yep, 'Royal Mail' are crap. No letters for days on end then 6-8 at once.

The privatisation of an historical national service is a crime but I suppose it was the last thing they could sell off. :cursing:

It was already dead. They sold the corpse to body snatchers. At one point before the sale we hadnt had post for ages, then sufpddenly had 5 weeks worth delivered at once.

The protected arrangement for first class post is fine if the service being protected actually works, but as it stands now its simp,y stopping anyone else from introducing an alternative that might actually work.

Our mail is fine

The bloke comes round every day - not always something for us but at least someone will have something

not much arrives that I know is first class and know when it was posted so I can;t judge times

but it does work

I hoped this was a generic "vent your anger" thread that I could use to moan about my boss; he's such a ******!

I have been lucky and have never worked for one of them

Well - the last one probably was
I had been doing everything in the school that involved a computer for 3 years when she took over as Head

and she changed several things without even talking to me
some of them I had already done and paid for so she basically just spent money she didn;t need to so she didn;t need to talk to me
she also decided to totally change what I did without talking to me

That was the point where I was checking out my retirement pensions as it would be due in a few years
and found that my Teacher's Pension would be quite a bit bigger if I retired in the next few months than if I carried on working for the next 4 years
so that was a rather easy decision!!!

I did work for a "very difficult bloke" - I think he had always been "difficult" and was possibly a bit Autistic
but had had a major brain problem several years before and half his brain had been removed
unexpectedly, he recovered all functions - but apparently he just became "more difficult"

but I got on with him fine - OK he was a bit strange but he was OK

when I said I was leaving - I was only on a short term contract - they tried to get me to take a full time role
but the pay was so low that I would make almost nothing after driving there and back every day
so I had to refuse

Huge backlog was reported weeks ago in Peterborough, our deliveries are only just becoming regular again.
I do wonder what actually is the nuts and bolts of the problem as it seems a very widespread one

He's fine with me most of the time, but i sense he has far less experience than i do in this type of project. I've had fewer disagreements with him than the rest of the team; 3 of them have moved on!

That’s where managing up comes in and you present the solutions as “how about we do x, what do you think, do you think we should give it a try and if not we can have another go?

They can claim it as their solution but really it is what you want to do all along.
