Set off home tonight with a loose left crank, and the only Allen key not in my kit was the 8mm required. Couldn't bodge it with a normal key either(!)

So thanks, shame I couldn't buy an 8mm key, but thanks for tightening up for me and saving me an extremely taxing 26miles on one crank!

I'll endeavour to stop in again sometime soon.

Well done that bike shop. Apparently you can work around a missing 8mm allen key by dropping an 8mm across flats nut into the hole then screwing an M5 bolt (bottle cage for example) and doing that up with a 4mm allen key. I haven't tried this myself.
