Vinyl records, original or remastered? Advice required

I love my vinyl (2000+ LPs) but it's not better than digital, just different!

I'd never give it up though, as the whole experience of playing an album is so much more involving than selecting a track on spotify!

and yes I'm one of those sad people who has spent thousands on his hifi over the last 30 years.

I have £500 speakers, but these days I fear my lugholes are only poundshop standard, so vinyl,cd,MP3,remastered, not sure I can tell the difference

It was when I bought Transformer on CD that I realised "Perfect Day" didn't go "Just a perfect day <click>, drink sangria in the park <click> and later when it gets <click> dark, we go home.

Get some normal cable and spend the money you've saved, by not buying overpriced nonsense wire, on music. Not only will it sound as good you'll have tons more of it. And that's a fact.

I'm not sure of this talk about vinyl sounding 'brighter'. What does that even mean? At no point in the frequency range does vinyl reproduce sound more accurately than CD, assuming the same amp, speakers, etc.

I can understand why people dig vinyl, plain prefer it, or enjoy the trip down memory lane, but this idea that mechanically dragging a needle along a groove in a rotating disc is better at faithfully reproducing sound than CD is daft. There's no need for enthusiasts to trot out these clichés to justify their enjoyment of vinyl - it's ok to simply say you like it.

Yes we like it but not to labour the point isnt cd compressed like mp3 etc...it also sounds a bit that way to me even when i had a 700 quid Naim cd player? Vinyl sounds more natural and less clinical.
