Considering what my Kinesis cost to build, it's never had a set of expensive tyres on it (not counting my Ice Spiker Pros).

I use Halo Twin Rail II for on road and light/dry XC - which were cheap (when I bought them)

and for off road I use GEAX Barro Mountain, which I only paid £9 each for in a CRC sale:eek:

They do the job too

I use Vittoria Randonneur 700x28 Puncture Protection Road Bike Tyre at £13 each from Decathlon, no punctures in 3 years.

Newer 28c Vittoria Randonneur tyres don't seem to last as long as the older 25c tyres and their max PSI is only 75.

The old 25c tyre had a min PSI of 100 and a max PSI of 130. This might indicate a stronger tyre and a reason for their greater longevity.

I might buy some for my winter bike!
