Sold the Jazz today via We buy any car.com , I initially compared prices with Motorway and we buy any car , motorway came up with a higher figure so listed it with them , at end of the auction agreed a price which considering the cost of the required paint repairs I thought was a fair price, agreed a collection date with the trade buyer who turned up after a couple of cancellations. A very hairy raising test drive by there representative was less than impressive he then started to haggle on the price after three rises in offers I told him it would stay in the garage rather than accept there offer so he had to get a taxi to local train station and a return ticket.
So I tried it on marketplace and had a few bites but really low ball offers so I contacted we buy any car and went to see them today, no road test required a representative walked around the car noting any damage and then made an offer which was duly accepted.
Fifteen minutes later and it's sold.

We had exactly the same experience with Motorway with our Golf earlier this year, however the agreed price was far more than I thought we would actually get for it, so I took the lower offer to do the deal as I had a new car arriving, bit it does seem to be their modus operandi, get a high agreed price and the dealer then haggles it down on the driveway, he just said he thought the agreed price was too high, I declared and photographed everything so it wasn’t about a specific issue or fault.

I did raise this with Motorway and they said it was because the dealer noticed that front discs and pads needed replacing, I did tell them they were replaced about 3 months earlier and they were never mentioned when the dealer came to collect the car, but not surprisingly they didn’t respond. Although in the end I actually got a pretty fair price for it, I don’t like dishonesty and silly games, I wont be dealing with them again.

I wouldn't have minded if they had said that xyz needed extra work and the difference was the aprox cost of repair in my mind then fair enough , but he didn't so his loss

I felt the same, what cheesed me off was that the car was absolutely mint, I’d had it from new, it had never had any paint and had full documented service history, to have a dodgy dealer basically tell you it was worth nothing just really got up my hooter.

I have been trying to remove the high level brake light for a few hours now after noticing it wasn't working.

Undid the two securing nuts and nothing budging a bit of gentle pushing and still nothing.

So a bit of googling and it's fairly common as the gasket that goes between the lamp and the body was certainly holding it in place. So ended up using a credit card and forcing it in between the gasket and body to break the seal as best as I could and hey presto now out .

Going to use a silicone sealant to replace the gasket.

Credit card was a good plan. You really need trim removal tools (like plastic pry bars). I replaced all the door gaskets on my 2003 SEAT Leon years ago as I was getting wet feet! I used some sort of sealant bead on a roll to reseal. Like an extra sticky plasticine bead on a roll of backing tape.

New bulb not cured the issue so it looks like the tailgate wiring loom has broken somewhere.

It will have broken where it leaves the tailgate body and enters the main body of the car. I've had several hatchbacks break wires here. Best to rewire all of the loom either block connectors

Yes, wife's car had had a couple of dodgy wires in the tailgate bundle. I've a post on this thread a while back where we had an intermittent fault on the boot release button, and then the rear wiper just stopped working. We had the garage replace the whole loom.

Yea I remember that now, I have ordered the little loom and will swap it over when it comes.
