By that stage union flag and union Jack have become interchangeable in common usage I believe. Doesn't mean we can't correct that!

I live in Coventry and once caused chaos in a cafe in Dudley by asking for a bacon batch.

in Coventry we call a bread roll a batch, in Dudley a bread roll is a bap, there for when I asked for a batch the woman in the cafe hadn't a clue what I was talking about, hence the confusion.

I just look on the menu and see what the 'seller' calls them.... Confusing in just Manchester.

"Breakfast in Bread" is the choice from the cafe near work - it's heaven !

Indeed it is, I was just a bit confused by mings whole pig comment, if it was an attempt at humour it went over my head, if it wasn't I felt that a clarification could be needed, which is the reason for my post.

Just humour. A batch of bacon is the whole pig. I’d seen the other meaning above.

Of course first us flag had it on instead of the stars bit. Looks better with the stars though.
